We started the Burney Mountain Guest Ranch to fulfill a dream of creating a positive, artistic retreat where anyone can come unwind, learn, share, experience and enjoy nature's beauty.
The artist spirit lives in everyone, from the serious craftsman, to the weekend fly fisherman, to the thru-hiker on the Pacific Crest Trail.

140 acres featuring:
A short distance from the Pacific Crest Trail, Burney Falls, Hat Creek, and Baum Lake, known for its fishing and wildlife.
We officially open in May!

Born in the Southwest, Chef Charlie traveled the world before settling on the Central Coast of California. He has spent the majority of his career as a chef in winery kitchens, blending the art of food and wine. With over five decades of experience cooking, serving, and nurturing his clientele, hospitality has become a way of life. To Charlie, life is one big culinary adventure.
Accomplishments aside, Charlie lives by one simple rule: A chef is only as good as his last plate. Ever-growing in style, technique, and flavor, his ultimate joy is sharing his wine country expertise to bring happiness to your table.

Burney Mountain Guest Ranch recognizes that we have a responsibility to conserve the environment and protect the community in which we operate, in order to preserve the area for future generations of travelers. We support all types of recreationalists in their quest for spending time in nature and we believe this promotes a broader love and understanding for the environment and the desire to protect our ecosystems and the biodiversity around us.

Burney Mountain Guest Ranch boasts an impressive solar array on top of the horse and glam camping stable. With a total of 18,480 Watts, our solar panels produce enough energy to support the majority of the guest ranch functions.

We share our home with a wide range of plants and animals, and we believe it is our duty to protect them and allow them to flourish. In the Northern California landscape, it is important to manage the underbrush to reduce the incidence and spread of forest fires. We clear many of the old Antelope Bushes for this reason, but we leave a “patchwork quilt” of uncleared areas for animals to use as a habitat corridor.

Our goal is to conserve water while maintaining the luxury experience. We have introduced many water saving practices at our guest ranch. One way we are conserving water is by only planting and cultivating native plants. We removed the flower garden beds that required intensive watering. Native plants use less water since they are accustomed to the water schedule that nature provides.

We prioritize waste reduction, and we strive to be mindful of what we purchase and how we manage our waste. We recycle as much as we possibly can, only purchase what we can use, and we are thoughtful about what we send to the landfill. We plan our meals carefully so that food does not go to waste.

Just a short walk from the Pacific Crest Trail at Mile 1411, the Burney Mountain Guest Ranch is dedicated to making your stay as restful and welcoming as we can.
